Our veterinary advice is brought to you by Frances Harvey MVB MRCVS, based in Slane, Co. Meath.  Frances has been a veterinarian professional for over 25 years and is highly trusted and respected among her clientele.  One of the most important attributes that her clients appreciate is her ‘caring attitude’ and fundamental love and dedication to the animal kingdom.

We have covered a lot of the main topics of concern to dog owners below, however if you have a specific question please send us your query.  Due to the high volume of queries we receive it is not possible for Frances to answer every one, however we will compile the top 5 queries each week and publish the responses from Frances on the site for the benefit of all dog owners.

If you have an emergency query, under Irish law, it is obligatory for your vet to provide you with emergency care 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.  If he/she chooses to use an out of hour’s clinic to provide this service, it is your vet’s responsibility to pay for the consultation.  Other expenses must be covered by you and/or your pet insurance provider.
